A bit about Charlotte
Charlotte specialises in thrown porcelain tableware and surface design. Her collection of work includes porcelain mugs, jugs and bottles plus many other unique thrown and hand rolled pieces. As well as exhibiting at craft fairs and selling through galleries, she makes bespoke work in collaboration with individual clients and for museum shops including special exhibitions. Much of the work is decorated with transfers whether hand drawn illustration, text, or imagery from Victorian sources. Charlotte also makes a range of unique hand marbled porcelain tiles, decorations and tableware. The ceramics are glaze fired to 1,240ºC and the transfers are fired on at 800ºC which is a third firing process.
With qualifications in teaching and a degree in ceramics, Charlotte has for many years taught adult education classes for local authorities in SW London and Surrey. The classes range from beginner to advanced level and incorporate both handbuilding and throwing. She is also available to teach individual clients on a one to one basis. Charlotte’s studio is now located in Dorset, England.
